A TRAINING FOR GREATER RESPONSIBILITIES

Thursday, May 25th.

Pastor Chris

For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s Power (1Corithians 4:20 NLT)

In our previous study, we learned about the Kingdom of Heaven and how its purpose is to establish the Kingdom of God in the earth. But what’s the Kingdom of Heaven? It refers to the political government of Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “…and the government shall be upon his shoulder…” (Isaiah 9:6). This is dealing with His structures and political arrangement.

Even though the Kingdom of Heaven is in the earth and ruling the spirit world, it’s not yet governing the people. To understand this, think of a political party that’s already active with members, but hasn’t assumed authority over the government of the state or nation.

When that party eventually takes over the government, everything changes. In the same way, once the Kingdom of God is truly and duly established in the earth, then the Kingdom of heaven takes over! But for now, the political structures in the world today will continue to nose-dive, and the world will keep having more problems until the Rapture takes place. The period of tribulation will then follow, after which the Lord Jesus will appear from heaven.

The Bible says in Daniel 7:27 “And the Kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the Kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.” At His second coming, the Lord Jesus gets the Kingdom! He’ll establish His political structures on earth and take over. Hallelujah! He’ll reign and rule and, in the end, deliver the Kingdom to God the Father.

Understand that all the things we’re doing for the Lord on earth today aren’t an end in themselves; they’re trainings for greater Kingdom responsibilities ahead. Therefore, serve the Lord wholeheartedly, and make up your mind to accomplish big things for the Kingdom, knowing that there’s a “hereafter”.

Advancing The Kingdom

Wednesday, May 24th

Pastor Chris

…For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen (Matthew 6:13).

In the concluding part of the format of prayer Jesus gave to His disciples, He taught them to say, “Thine is the Kingdom.” He was referring to the Kingdom of God. But in St. Matthew’s gospel, there’s another expression, “the Kingdom of heaven,” which, though interchangeably used with the Kingdom of God, is different.

While the Kingdom of God refers to the rulership or dominion of God, which transcends territories and is universal, the Kingdom of Heaven is applied particularly in connection to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, and His messianic reign. It’s that part of the Kingdom of God that’s established on the earth and is headed by Jesus.

The vision of the Kingdom of heaven is the establishment and expansion of the Kingdom of God on the earth; it’s the work of Jesus Christ, of which we, the Church, are a vital part. It’s important for us to know our role. Each one of us actually has a responsibility, first, to see to the expansion of the Kingdom of God, because we belong in that Kingdom: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

The Lord’s injunction for us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness calls for every one of us to reappraise our priorities and walk accordingly. Your ultimate desire should be that the Kingdom is advancing through you as you impact your world with the Gospel.

Devote your time, efforts and resources to the furtherance of the Gospel. There’s so much more you can do to ensure God’s Word prevails in your city, region or country, and the world.

It’s only the Gospel that can catapult the sinner into salvation and righteousness. So, there’re no options to the Gospel; reach out to someone today by sponsoring copies, click here http: http://bit.ly/ROR-sponsorship

           PRAYER

Dear Father, I’m determined, more than ever, to spread, to the ends of the earth, the glorious news of Christ’s salvation and His wondrous works towards mankind. The Kingdom of God has been set up in my heart: peace, beauty, glory, grace and life of God are fully functional in my spirit, expressed in and through me. Through me, the Word prevails in my city, region, country, and the world. Blessed be God!

FURTHER STUDY: || John 3:3-7 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. ||

|| Matthew 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. ||

Gospel Music Legend – Donnie McClurkin

Donnie McClurkin is a distinguished American gospel singer, and minister who has become an icon in the music industry with his soul-stirring performances and profound messages. Born on November 9, 1959, in Copiague, New York, McClurkin’s remarkable career has been marked by numerous accolades, including three Grammy Awards, ten Stellar Awards, two BET Awards, two Soul Train Awards, one Dove Award, and one NAACP Image Award. With over 10 million albums sold worldwide, he is widely regarded as one of the top-selling gospel artists. Variety has aptly dubbed him the “Reigning King of Urban Gospel.”

McClurkin’s early life was filled with personal challenges and adversity. At the age of eight, tragedy struck when his two-year-old brother was tragically killed by a speeding driver. The loss of his brother, coupled with the trauma of childhood sexual abuse perpetrated by his great uncle and his cousin, led to further turmoil within his family. Seeking solace, McClurkin turned to the church and found comfort through the influence of his aunt, who sang background vocals with renowned gospel musician Andraé Crouch. In his teenage years, he formed the McClurkin Singers and later established the New York Restoration Choir, showcasing his musical talent and dedication from an early age.

In 1989, McClurkin began his ministry journey as an associate minister at Marvin Winans’ Perfecting Church in Detroit, Michigan, where he served as an assistant to Winans for over a decade. His unwavering faith was put to the test in 1991 when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Despite doctors urging immediate treatment, McClurkin relied on his own teachings and turned to God for healing. His remarkable recovery reinforced his belief in the power of faith and became a testament to his own preaching.

Following his ordination by the Winans in 2001, McClurkin ventured to establish Perfecting Faith Church in Freeport, New York, where he currently serves as the Senior Pastor, guiding and inspiring his congregation.

McClurkin’s musical contributions have resonated with audiences worldwide. With his self-titled album released in 1996, he achieved significant success, including the gold-certified single “Stand,” which garnered praise from influential figures like Oprah Winfrey.

His chart-topping solo albums and hit songs, including “We Fall Down,” have solidified his position as a gospel music luminary.

Notably, his albums “Live in London and More” and “Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs” achieved double-platinum and chart-topping success, respectively, while incorporating a language medley in his live performances, featuring Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and Dutch.

In addition to his musical endeavors, McClurkin has made notable contributions to radio and television. Through a syndication deal with Dial-Global and syndicator Gary Bernstein, he embraced radio, engaging with his listeners nationwide and expressing his enjoyment of connecting with people through this medium.

His television appearances have included esteemed programs such as Good Morning America, CBS’s The Early Show, The View, Girlfriends, and The Parkers. Furthermore, his involvement in films like The Gospel and The Fighting Temptations has showcased his versatile talents, portraying roles as a single man or church pastor.

Throughout his personal journey, McClurkin has openly shared his experiences and struggles. In 2002, he spoke candidly about his battle with homosexuality, attributing it to childhood molestation and exposure to pornography. Through his unwavering faith, he claimed to have overcome these challenges and embraced a different path.

However, his stance on homosexuality has garnered controversy, leading to his removal from performances associated with then-Senator Barack Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign and the disinvitation from the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 2013.

In 2016, McClurkin’s relationship with CCM singer-songwriter Nicole C. Mullen gained media attention, providing insight into his personal life. In a 2021 interview on TV One’s Unsung, he reflected on his previous relationships with both men and women, acknowledging his lack of experience in long-term relationships and expressing uncertainty about marriage.

In 2018, McClurkin overcame a life-threatening car accident, which occurred when he lost consciousness while driving. The incident served as another testament to his resilience and unwavering faith.

Donnie McClurkin’s inspiring journey, marked by triumphs and challenges, continues to touch the lives of countless individuals. His unwavering commitment to his faith, his musical prowess, and his dedication to ministry has solidified his place as a beloved figure in the gospel music landscape.
