Bidemi Olaoba: I make music to win souls
Prominent gospel artiste, Bidemi Olaoba, has affirmed that his achievement as a musician is not for monetary rewards, but to win souls for God.In a chat with Weekend Beats, he says, “I am a prophetic praise and worship leader. I have the grace and the mantle to prophetically bring the will of the father to his children through worship. I sing scriptures. My programme, In His Presence, is a monthly praise and worship altar that enables us to raise an altar for God as we are commanded to do. It is heaven’s mandate every first day of the month. It’s spontaneous and a reflection of what we have enjoyed in our private worship sessions. So we just showcase it for people to be blessed.”Shedding light on the misconceptions some people have about his style of music, the versatile gospel artiste said: “God knows the genuineness and sincerity behind what I am doing. If I shout, if I scream, if I run, if I do any gymnastics, it is because I have two legs and I have two hands.“The Bible recorded that David danced as if he was mad and somebody despised him. That was the only barren woman that was recorded in the Bible till date. So, every form of activity in the presence of God is a form of worship, so it is not gymnastics and not “unspiritual”The Bonjour crooner also added that success to him is about winning souls for the Kingdom of God.“The bible says he that winneth a soul is wise. Success for me is about winning souls for God’s Kingdom. Fulfiling God’s mandate for my life is also success to me. Also, prayer and hard work have sustained me thus far. These days, my prayer focus has increased. I have, by the grace of God, brought a generation to this kingdom, a generation of radical ‘praisers’. His grace and mercy has brought us thus far.
