The Commonwealth of Dominica has appointed Nigerian gospel artist, Osinachi Joseph Egbu, known as Sinach, as a global ambassador. The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, created the role to reposition Dominica as a leading tourist and investment destination. The announcement was made by Janet Charles, the Acting High Commissioner of the Commonwealth of Dominica in the UK.
In a letter to Sinach, the Prime Minister acknowledged her international reach with a following of over 1.8 million in over 100 countries. He requested her assistance in promoting the Commonwealth of Dominica’s national interest and attracting tourism and investment to the island.
Dubbed the “Nature Isle of the Caribbean,” Dominica is a popular tourist destination for eco-friendly lodging, resorts, and villas, as well as hiking trails and diving spots. The government promotes sustainable tourism and responsible practices to protect the island’s natural beauty.
Sinach, one of Africa’s most popular gospel artists and the first gospel singer from the continent to win the Song of the Year at the global Dove Awards, expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister and her eagerness to serve as a Global Ambassador for the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica. Her song “Way Maker” has received over 200 million streams worldwide.
