After 9 full years of singing secular music, Chidinma Ekele converted to Christianity and started singing gospel. She had her photos captioned with messages that clearly showed she was done with Afro-pop music. 
Chidinma is a Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter. she rose to stardom years back after she won MTN project fame in Nigeria In 2010, she’s been consistent with releasing her music, she became the first female musician to peak at number 1 on the MTV base Official Naija Top 10 chart . Chidinma reappeared again in May 2021 after being absent from the music scene but this time she was celebrating her 30th birthday, she shared photos of herself on social media, however, there was something different about the singer that wasn’t strange though but was unusual, she was now a Gospel Artiste.
“God has been very intentional about me, I’m not here because I want fame or I want money, I’ve had all of that, I think I have had enough of all that, right now its the time to work for my father, He’s the one who has called me.” she mentioned that the enemy has been winning for a long time, and that she’s wasted time herself, she said it’s time too take back the wasted years, using all the fame and everything to work for the father, she’s called herself the ‘end time soldier’ because of the hard work she’ll be doing for the gospel of Jesus. In her journey, that’s just started, she’s released a gospel song titled “Jehovah Overdo” under the same record label with Mercy Chinwo and Judikay as a Nigerian gospel singer.
Her old pictures on social media are deleted and replaced with stories and photos around her new found Christian life.
