” The Chosen” TV series Tops chart on the App Store

In line with it’s tradition of record-breaking, “The Chosen” TV series has joined the group of top ranking content on the Apple app store with over 155 million views through its app which is available on the app stores.

The show which was created and directed by Dallas Jenkins is the first multi-season drama series about the life of Jesus Christ and was produced outside of Hollywood. According to the series’ creators, they had hoped to distinguish the new series from previous portrayals of Jesus by crafting a multi-season, episode-based story, captured “through the eyes of those who met him”.

The series became the highest crowd-funded TV series or film project of all time after 16,000 people invested over $10 million into Season One of the show which is currently a year ahead of schedule of funding for Season 2. According to Dallas,“This is God’s impossible math,” Jenkins added. “It’s not my job to feed the 5,000, it’s my job to supply the loaves and fish”.

After watching the series, a fan review stated, “My wife wanted me to watch The Chosen with her, and I avoided it for weeks, because I expected yet another well-intentioned but ‘cheesy’ Christian production. Then I finally gave in. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG. This production is amazing! The quality of the scripts, acting, and sets are all on a par with the production values of a well-regarded Hollywood ‘short season’ series. And the depiction of the historical culture and the conjectural backstories for key figures around Jesus are BETTER than anything I have seen elsewhere. If you are at all curious about a fresh take on the life of Jesus that still maintains rigorous effort to remain true to the New Testament record, I would HIGHLY recommend this series!”
